Plans changed, the weather turned good, or you simply decided this morning that today is the day. Because we run a small fleet of three boats rather than a fixed timetable, a same-day private cruise is often possible, it comes down to whether a boat and a captain happen to be free.

Last minute prices are our normal prices
There is no last-minute surcharge. A same-day cruise costs exactly what an advance booking costs, from €250 for the first hour, including your private boat, local captain and one non-alcoholic welcome drink per guest.

Even in peak season it is always worth asking, cancellations open up slots at short notice, and those are exactly the ones we fill last minute.
A last minute cruise is still the full experience
Booking on the day does not mean a stripped-back version. You still get a fully private historic saloon boat, a local captain who doubles as your guide, a welcome drink and a flexible route through the canal ring.
The only real difference is choice: you take whichever of Undine, Tzar or Ritz happens to be free, and catering usually cannot be arranged at a few hours’ notice.

How to improve your chances today
- ✓WhatsApp rather than email. For same-day requests, a message gets an answer in minutes; email may not.
- ✓Be flexible on time. If 5pm is full, 3pm or 7pm may well be open. Give us a window rather than a single slot.
- ✓Be flexible on the boat. Say yes to whichever vessel is free and your odds improve considerably.
- ✓Ask about a 1-hour cruise. Short gaps between bookings are the easiest to fill.
- ✓Skip the catering. Food needs to be ordered from restaurant partners in advance; drinks from the minibar do not.
- ✓Check the booking system first. Today’s remaining slots appear there in real time, so you may be able to book without waiting for a reply.

For a plain sightseeing cruise, a couple of hours is usually enough if a boat is free. Anything involving food, decorations or a photographer needs considerably more notice, since those come from external partners.

At short notice you take whichever boat is available, Undine, Tzar or Ritz. All three are private, heated and covered, so the experience is comparable. If a specific boat matters to you, book in advance instead.

The cruise still runs. All three boats have heated, covered cabins, and rainy days are often when last minute availability is best.
We will confirm the exact meeting point when we confirm the booking, usually near Amsterdam Central Station. A canal-side hotel pickup may be possible depending on the boat’s position and the time.
