Our small historic covered and heated boat is a perfect way to make an interesting journey along the different amazing pieces of light-art. Each year in the winter period, a new edition of Festival of Lights Amsterdam is taking place, with artworks that are created especially for the light festival. Besides that, in collaboration with artists, partners and various stakeholders, the festival also organizes unique projects. The education project (in which hundreds of primary school students take part) and the collaboration with the Breitner Academy (in which young talent co-creates an artwork for the festival) have been part of every edition.
After welcoming you on board, we will give you all the information about all the art objects and their artists. In addition to that, we enrich the tour with many (fun) facts about Amsterdam and its canals. Our boat has all the comfort you need, minibar with a good selection of drinks, integrated heating system, double glass (no foggy windows) and fleece blankets.

Dining options during the Amsterdam light festival boat tour
A welcome drink is included for every guest. In addition to that, we also have a minibar on board where you can choose from a variety of drinks. We serve organic red and white wines from Chateau Amsterdam, Heineken and Hertog Jan beers as well as hot drinks like coffee and tea!
In addition to that, the light festival tour can be combined with a private dining experience. In order to have sufficient time for a combined tour, you need to book at least a 2.5 hr tour package (for 1 course) or 3hrs (if you like to have 2 or 3 courses).

What is the Amsterdam Light Festival?
Time flies! This year marks the twelfth edition of the light art festival taking place in Amsterdam. The route consists of 17 artworks which will be visible during your private canal ride. You will float through the canals while enjoying the light work and the explanations behind the creative makers objects. The Light Festival in Amsterdam is organised by a year-round foundation aiming to enrich and connect people through light art.
When can I go on a private light festival boat tour?
The Light festival takes place between 30 November 2023 and 21 January 2024. In this period, we offer private canal rides to view the artwork from the water and from the comfort of our heated and enclosed private boat. The windows of the boats also don’t get foggy, which ensures a clear view through the whole tour! .

What are the departure times?
From Sunday to Tuesday we depart every day at 5 pm, 6.45 pm or 8.30 pm for a private light festival tour. From Wednesday to Sunday we offer 5.15 pm, 7 pm and 9 pm as start times. This has to do with the fact that the lights are switched off earlier on some days then on the others. If you prefer a customized start time get in touch with us and we can see if we can make an exception for a specifc day/time.
What is the route?
We usually depart from Oosterdokskade 8 near Central Station. From there we take the light festival route in the inner city canals to explore the light objects from the water. Get in touch with us should you require a customized pick-up point or a combination with a dinner cruise.
